Suddenly it is three years later; they have not paid the surcharges and do not realize that their license has been suspended for not paying the surcharges. Before they know it, they are getting another ticket for driving with a suspended license. Now that ticket for not having insurance can cost you hundreds if not thousands of dollars.

The next option is to go into court to try to fight it or work out a deal. Weather it is San Antonio Municipal Court or one of the Justice of the Peace Courts; it is not going to be easy. You are most likely not going to be able to speak with the judge. If you are lucky, you will get to speak t o a prosecutor. They will make you an offer but will not be able to give you any advice. You are not going to know how this will affect your driving record or if surcharges will be assessed. And be ready to waste your day. It can take hours to take care of one ticket. And sometimes it can take several appearances.
